Brooklyn band The Denzels sound oh so very California surfer rock, but their catchy tunes take an interesting turn when you realize how insightful their lyrics are. The last song they performed, “Self Talk,” contains the line: We all got the time to find someone we like, we compromise… — such an appropriate mantra in this day and age… that is, until the dreaded day we realize we’re getting old and “talking to ourselves.”
